overall appearance;;
Emily thinks her body is just fine, and she wouldn’t get surgery to change it. She has curves in all the right places, and nothing is out of proportion. Of course, she isn’t the bustiest girl there’s ever been, but she isn’t flat chested. Her weight isn’t that of a starved supermodel, but it’s good for her height and build. She is pretty short, only coming to five feet four inches, but it doesn’t matter. As for her skin, Emily could probably pass for an emo kid if she dressed completely like that. Her skin is a bit pale, and she doesn't tan. She just burns, which is why she hates being out in the sun for too long.
Emily's eye makeup can be a bit heavy, but she can pull it off. It makes her blue eyes stick out. The most she’s worn on a normal day on her lips is lipgloss, because she doesn’t like lipstick very much. Her hairstyles vary by day, and she can do a lot with her pink hair because it’s very long, reaching the middle of her back. Her attire varies by day, though it'll most likely consist of a pair of skinny jeans and a tee.
Emily also has a septum ring, which isn't very normal to most. She actually likes the way it looks and likes that not many people have it. Her ears are pierced, but what girl doesn't have that? As of now, she only has one tattoo, though more will probably be added. It is LA on her shoulder, and it was done while she was drunk one day. It doesn't really make much sense besides she used to live there, but Emily's made up a story to make it seem semi-reasonable. A tribute to where she grew up is what she tells people, though she despises the place.
deep down;;
LOVE it;;
HATE it;;
REALLY GOOD at;;
KINDA BAD at;;
THOSE little THINGS;;
GOALS;;
overall personality;;
- secretive – Emily is quite secretive, but can you blame her? The girl doesn’t like telling people or talking about her past, which is why not many of her friends know. Bringing it up would make Emily remember, and that’s the last thing she wants. It makes her think of how bad she was, and that embarrasses her. She was such a bad person then. Besides that, she firmly believes in the “mind your own business” motto, at least when it comes to serious matters. Small things, like “Who were you on the phone with?” or “What were you up to?” don’t bother her much, but when people ask for the full story and give their opinion in a fight where it doesn’t count, she gets a bit aggravated.
- untrusting/guarded – With a past like hers, the girl is most definitely not eager to trust people. It isn’t very easy for her either, especially with adults. Though she doesn’t trust anyone quickly, Emily is more likely to trust someone her age than someone much older, simply because adults never cared much for her and they sent her away. Not all people are like that, which she knows, but it is still a bit hard for her to think people are nice and care for her genuinely. The teen is afraid people will hate her again, and she would rather isolate herself from people who she doesn’t like very much. Yes, that does mean not giving some people the chance to talk to her they deserve.
- caring – Even though people have given her reason not to be nice or care much, she does. Only with the people she really knows though. Animals too. Others need to gain her trust in order for her to care for them. People weren’t always so kind to her, and she needs to know they’re worth her time before she actually wastes her time on them. If they do wind up being like everyone else, it makes her mad she actually fell for their act. This doesn’t happen too often though, because the girl is pretty good at telling when someone is lying or not. That’s why not many people can keep something from her.
- nice – This girl is the kind of nice most people are. Emily is a generally kind and considerate person. Her friends mean a lot to her, and never will they get an attitude from her unless they’ve done something to her. Strangers are given the respect they deserve, as are others she encounters. People are just all equal, and she tries to exhibit that idea as much as possible. If others aren’t nice to her though, they will get that right back, and it probably won't come as a shock to them. The girl seems like someone who would act rude towards someone she just met, but she doesn't always.
- loyal - Emily is extremely loyal to the people she likes. Friends are treated like her everything, always coming first. She doesn’t have much family, but her friends take that spot. Love interests aren’t very plentiful for her, but she will not cheat, nor will she treat them unjustly. Sometimes this leads to her getting taken advantage of when it comes to hanging out with people, but she has yet to change.
- animal lover – Emily is very much a lover of animals. She is vegetarian, speaks out against the harm of animals, and doesn’t use products that have been tested on animals. The girl owns quite a few pets herself, seeing as she can’t stand to watch a poor animal suffer in a shelter. More often than not though, you can find her nursing a homeless animal back to health before finding a suitable home for it.
- musical – Since she was little, music has always been important to the girl. Her guitar is one of the things that keeps her alive. Writing music is another hobby, and she is always listening to it. Emily has been to a good amount of shows, many for bands most people haven’t heard of. She prefers to listen to that music, as they tend not to be sellouts. Bands that sell out make her mad.
- OCD - Yes, she has OCD. It isn't very bad though. Small things upset her, and she can usually calm herself down when she has an 'episode'. They aren't crazy though, so you can barely call them episodes. Really just like a bother that she gets a little worked up about. The things that bother her the most are usually where certain things are and if she’s on time. If she says she’s going to be somewhere at a certain time, expect her there, at most, five minutes later than that time. And her room is set up a certain way, her bed in the spot she needs it and other small things in their ‘right’ spots.
- shy and outgoing - Emily is very outgoing, but also pretty shy. When she first meets you, she'll probably be really outgoing, but it will take some time for her to get used to you. When she’s with a group of her friends she’s already used to, she'll be comfortable around you right away. Once she really gets used to you though, she will act like her weird and random self. You’ll always have a smile on your face, and will laugh often. The girl also likes to have serious conversations with her friends, bringing up serious issues in the world.
- mean - If you are her enemy, or someone she just dislikes, she will be probably be mean. Plain and simple. You will be treated like nothing. It isn’t always fair, but most who get the attitude did something to make her mad. Sometimes, you don’t get to be treated fairly and you don't deserve it. She isn't always fair, but that's how she's learned to be.
- tough - If you think you can ruin Emily, you’re probably dead wrong. She is pretty tough, especially given her past. Though she doesn’t like fighting, she will if she absolutely has to. Now she prefers just yelling at someone, but if she needs to stand up for her friends, she’ll do anything. Her appearance doesn’t really make her seem like a touch girl, but she truly is. The only way you really find out is by getting on her bad side, and you really don’t want to do that. It’s a very bad idea.
- flirty - Emily loves to flirt with people. Well, that and more. Though she usually dislikes one night stands, she does have them occasionally. Her flirtatiousness is one reason she dislikes relationships. She likes having someone who cares for her, but staying faithful is too hard. She hates hurting someone who actually cares for her, and it kills her to break up with them also. They just never work out for her, which is why she prefers just hooking up with people at parties.

history;;
Oh, it was a regular night for Brianna Burgess. The 17 year old was going out to party, like she did every weekend. Her usual weekend schedule consisted of partying, sex, drugs, alcohol, and a huge hangover. Yeah, you could call her whore. She never slept with the same guy twice, and if she did, it was because they were friends, or just about. Her weekend went on as normal, except for one thing. She had forgotten to take the pill, and the man hadn’t used protection. No big deal, right? Not really. That weekend was when Emily was conceived. Unplanned? Yes. Unwanted? Of course. The only thing that kept Brianna from ruining the baby’s health was her mother. Her father played a small part too. They refused to let her go out, and though they didn’t like this idea, they took care of her. They begged her to contact the man responsible, but she didn‘t want to speak to him. They weren’t pleased to hear this either. Nevertheless, they wanted their grandchild to be healthy and perfect, so they helped as much as they could. They would probably wind up taking care of the child anyway.
Early in the morning on April 3, Brianna had been awake planning things. That was when her water broke. And she was rushed to the hospital. Five hour later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, which she named Emily Joelle. She was given her father's last name, because her grandparents didn't want to whole situation to seem as odd as it was. She was in great health, being the height and weight of an average baby. Everyone was happy, even Brianna. She just couldn’t help it. As much as she didn’t want the baby, even she knew it was wrong to hate a baby. Especially when she gave birth to it. All that pain couldn’t have been for nothing. Who cared if she didn’t have a husband or a boyfriend to help her? Things would work out. She could tell. Besides, that bank account wasn’t building up interest for nothing. She was planning on taking care of her life and making everything right. At least that was her mindset. Things would be set right and her child would have all the opportunities possible for her. After all, there were endless possibilities for the new human.
As soon as her and the baby were out of the hospital, Brianna took the money out of the bank account. She was ready to spend it on the necessities, not drugs or alcohol. First order of business was getting an apartment. With the help of her parents, she got a two bedroom apartment for herself and Emily. Furniture wasn’t too hard to get, and a job was then only option for an income. And that helped her turn back to her old ways. She got a job, but not the kind you’d think. First, she dropped out of school. Then, she really got the job. It was a job she could do from home, but not the ideal job for a seventeen year old. Each day, various people, men and women, came and left the apartment, paying the mother each time they left. Emily was too little, so she didn’t even remember it when she was that young. But, yeah, her mother was a prostitute. It brought in good money though. It also brought less care for the infant. Her mother rarely checked on her, often forgetting about her for hours. This lasted for a while too.
When Emily started school, she never really talked to other kids much. Her mother had never let her interact with others, as she never really left the house. By this time, Brianna had gotten pregnant again and was carrying around a three year old. Two kids walking around in London by themselves wasn‘t very smart. So Emily generally stuck to herself as a friend. Sure, she would play with other kids at school if they really wanted her to, but that was about it. It had basically become the only attention she got. Playing tag on the playground was okay, but going over their house was a big no-no. who was going to take her there? Her mother barely gave her the time of day. This made the girl a bit mad, and she became bitter. Her sister, Noelle, and her constantly fought. Their mother usually slapped them both to get them to shut up. This went on for a few years.
In the fifth grade was when things really got out of control. A bunch of kids were hanging out at the park, Emily included. A boy started to make fun of her, and she didn’t know how to handle it. She just exploded, hitting the kid until he was crying. She didn’t break anything, but he had cuts and scratches on him. Adults had noticed, and they were running over. Not good. She took off, running towards home. Her mother had told her not to come home until much later, but the ten year old didn’t care. She needed to get away. By the time she had gotten half way to her house, no one was behind her. She could walk now. None of the other kids would tell, and that one kid didn’t know her name. They had just met him. Finally, she had reached home. Upon opening the door, she knew she definitely wasn’t supposed to be home Her mother was ‘working’. How did the neighbors not complain? Emily thought it was too loud. So she snuck into the room her and her sister shared, hoping her mother wouldn’t find her later. She just sat there, writing songs and drawing. Of course, the songs didn’t make much sense. She was only ten.
A few hours later, her mother noticed she hadn’t come home. It was peculiar. So she looked around the house, checking each room. Finally, she found the girl asleep on her bed. The room wasn’t that big, especially with the two beds in there, so it took almost no time for Brianna to walk over to her daughter and begin to yell. Emily awoke instantly, confused a to why her mother was yelling. Through the argument, she found out the child had been home for hours, which angered her. She hit the girl until she cried, then stormed out of the room. Noelle wouldn’t return that night because she was spending the night at their grandparents’ house. The little girl was at first upset, then mad at her mother. She promised herself she wouldn’t cry anymore. It just made her angry. When anyone yelled at her she got angry. That made for a worse life up ahead, because she just became more of a troublemaker as time went on.
In the sixth grade, Brianna decided to move to the US. LA to be exact, which wasn’t the best place for the kids. Not that area anyway. It was where they moved though, and Emily adjusted rather well. She was making friends easier than she did in London, so her questions about the move quickly vanished. Why complain about a good thing? The girl liked having friends and not having to stay around the house all the time. Especially when it came to her mother. Her mother was horrible to her, and that wasn’t even when she was working. Staying in the house when she was working was hell on it’s own though. So she made some friends and stayed out.
A few fights happened again with her new friends, and she began making even more friends, though they were the wrong kind of people. Emily had her first taste of drugs at 13, and had had her first hangover following. But that wasn’t that bad. One day at school, a kid began making fun of her, saying she was a druggie and a slut. The girl had gone no farther than kissing someone, even though they were a good deal older than her. But that still set her off. She jumped on the person, punching them and otherwise hurting them. A few teachers ran over, pulling her off of the other girl. She had broken the girl’s nose and cut up her face pretty bad. The result: Suspension. No big deal. Four days of staying home. Sure, her mom would be pissed, but whatever. Boy, was she right. As soon as her mother heard the news, there was a screaming match. And it just so happened that her mother began to call her names.
Emily just couldn’t take it. Straight away the lost it. The teen shoved her mother and watched her fall to the ground. Then she punched and kicked her until a neighbor called the police to report a disturbance. They were there in a minutes, and Emily was taken into police custody. Well, she wound up being sent to a coed correctional facility. Oh, great for Emily. It did help her a bit, but at the same time, it didn’t. Many times she would sneak off with a boy or even a girl into their cell. In a way, she was turning into her mother. But this didn’t last forever. They deemed her as not threat to society, so she was let out and moved back in with her mother. Of course, this was three years later, and she was sixteen. But she no longer did those things, because she knew it made her look bad. It made her look like her mother, and she didn’t want that.
Her aunt, who was a much better person then her mother and cared for Emily, took her in and they moved to Las Vegas. It was only her and her aunt, and things really changed. She never acted like before unless she had to, and she graduated high school with very good grades. Since then, she’s become the hair and make-up girl for While She Sleeps. And, even after seven years of living in the US, her accent still remains, and she loves it.

secret phrase;; It's not a party if it happens every night
your OTHER work;;
This would obviously wind up being fun. Even if she didn’t get wasted, though she probably would, he was hilarious when he was drunk. A lot of people she knew were. Except for the people who got violent. That could be really fucking scary. Half of the time she was the one calming them down and getting them to chill, because no one else had the guts to go near them. They figured if she could fight all the people she did and still be alive then she could deal with a drunken person. And Emily could, she just wished they didn’t always pick her. Couldn’t they do it for once? Sometimes the person wasn’t even her friend; it was the friend of someone else there. Someone she probably didn’t know and would never know. It sucked a lot. Thankfully she was not a violent drunk. The girl was, well, a friendly drunk. Too friendly on occasion. She’d have changed that if she could help what she acted like under the influence. The thing was, her memory failed on those nights when too too much alcohol was consumed. Emily vowed not to do it again, but she did. There was no way she could tell her friends she wasn’t going to party with them because she hated not remembering it. It was enough fun while it lasted to make her continue it. Her friends could make her do anything, too. They meant a lot to her. Hopefully none of them would ever take advantage of that. If they did, it would upset her a lot. It took a lot for her to trust someone, and when people didn’t take it seriously, it pissed her off.
Jeez, he was already acting like he was more than buzzed. She was behind. Emily knew she needed to catch up, though it wouldn’t take long. She was a pretty small person, so it didn’t take much alcohol to affect her thinking. At least she could handle herself for a while. Once she passed that point, all bets were off. Anything could happen, literally. She could get into a fight (though not likely), get so close to someone she’d sleep with them, or just have a funny conversation. Her conversations could be pretty hilarious because her imagination was crazy. The smile he gave her once they sat down made her want to giggle, but she held it in. They’d be laughing sooner or later. Hm. He made a good point with that comment. Emily knew Jordan wasn’t one for wasting time. Except when it came to things he didn’t want to do, obviously. The only reason she did such things right away was to get it over with. “Touché,” she said, laughing at herself. God, that word always made her laugh. She didn’t even know why. It was just really funny to her. It hadn’t always been though. When she was younger it hadn’t been funny. A lot of things hadn’t been funny then though. She had really gotten immature as she aged. If that was true, she’d be such an odd old person. At 80, Emily would probably act like she was 3. Oh, now she felt bad for the guy she would marry. Who would he be anyway? That was something that enticed her curiosity. Damn, now that would be on her mind until she was wasted. It couldn’t be too long until then.
The giggle finally found it’s way out of her when he kissed her. It wasn’t like it made her shy or anything; it just took her a bit by surprise. When she was surprised, nine times out of ten it would make her giggle. Emily was a bit odd, her logic definitely part of that. “Well, I’d say that was pretty important. At least this trip wasn’t a waste,” she said, grinning amusedly. Jordan really was fun to be around when he was drunk. He really wasn’t one of those bad drunks. If he wanted to be he could, but there was no need for it now. It was just them. Emily sat there as he went off into the kitchen, not waiting long before he returned with a glass, naturally for her. He had one already. Both of them were filled up with the alcohol before he kissed her again and spoke of a toast. A smile curved on her lips when he talked about her, knowing he was actually being serious. They were very good friends. Their glasses clicked before some of the liquid was drunk. After that, Emily opened her mouth to speak. “Aww, you’re so sweet. You’re the best friend anyone could have, not me,” she told him, poking his side lightly. The girl drank more of her drink, listening to him speak to her. “I really like you too. You’re pretty fucking awesome.” Hey, they were best friends. She knew there wasn’t anyone else she could really say that about.
